★★★ SPECIAL POST: IG Showcase Hints ★★★

At the IG Showcase held in December, GF Row shared some of her observations.

The first one was when a media member asked something about HJ'S character in IG comparing it to his previous character in BOF.

HJ included 'Playful Kiss' in his answer.  Umm... why were you thinking of PK?  Did it remind you of its press conference?  Were you wishing that the girl sitting next to you is your #shesmylife instead?  hehehe

HJ's answer to another topic, kind of left me confused but aren't we used to his way of answering anyway.  kekeke  (To save space, I'll share text of the reporter's question, HJ's answer and a screencap with the hint.)

One of the reporter asked:

The plot is set in Shanghai, in 1930’s.  That’s very unique.  What’s your impression of Shanghai in 1930s?  What’s your impression of this city’s historical background?  And, the other question is that because of this drama’s historical background, many people think of “Age of Wild Men” from 10 years ago.  What’s the differentiation between your character and Jae Mo Ahn’s character?

HJ's reply was:

I don’t think there’s much difference between 1930’s and this age.  There are always all kinds of people.  As I shoot this drama, I don’t think there’s any special emotion unique to 1930s.  Also, Shanghai in 1930s is said to precede Korea by 50 years.  I’ve been shooting until last morning.

And there was M&M chocolate as a prop.

This made me raised an eyebrow as M&M is one of my favorite candy and have read its history.  Some facts in Wikipedia are as follows:

  1. M&M's originated in the United States in 1941, and are now sold in as many as 100 countries.
  2.  Forrest Mars, Sr., son of the founder of the Mars Company Frank C. Mars, invented the idea for the candy in the 1930s during the Spanish Civil War when he saw soldiers eating chocolate pellets with a hard shell of tempered chocolate surrounding the inside, preventing the candies from melting.
  3.  Mars received a patent for his own process on March 3, 1941.[2] Production began in 1941 in a factory located at 285 Badger Avenue in Clinton Hill, Newark, New Jersey

The Investors.com info vouched the same info from Wikipedia - that Forrest Mars invented the recipe for M&Ms chocolate during the Spanish Civil War.  However, patent for his manufacturing process on March 3, 1941

Not to discredit anyone but it appears someone didn't do their homework.  How can there be props of M&M from 1930s at the drama when it wasn't introduced until 1941?

Personally, I'm curious to see if there really is a 1930s prop of M&M in the drama.  I'm also curious why a brand of candy?  Why not a brand of beer or car -- things men can relate to.

I think HJ was playfully hinting who was in his mind during the showcase and that's none other than his #shesmylife; *cough-MM-cough*.  ^-^

The battle of handsome actors and their dramas is about to begin! In a recent press conference, Kim Hyun Joong commented about his feelings on his KBS2TV drama, “Age of Feeling” competing against Kim Soo Hyun’s drama.

On January 9, KBS2TV’s “Age of Feeling” held a press conference, introducing the characters and plot. During the conference, Kim Hyun Joong was asked, “You are in the same agency as Kim Soo Hyun. Have you two discussed about your dramas?”

In response, the singer turned actor said, “Although I am in the same agency as Kim Soo Hyun, he is the popular icon. Also, Jun Ji Hyun is the original popular figure. Since my drama is competing against their drama, it is true that I feel burdened. I said to him to not be nervous, but I think both of us will be nervous while filming. However, our nervousness won’t change the dynamics. The viewers are the judge. I hope that both dramas will have a successful conclusion.”

Kim Hyun Joong will play a talented fighter in Shanghai who fights in order to earn money for his sister’s surgery fees. The drama, “Age of Feeling” takes place in 1930’s Shanghai, indicating that drama viewers can expect to see different cultural aspects.

KBS2TV’s “Age of Feeling” will compete with SBS’ “Man from the Stars” and MBC’s “Miss Korea.” The first episode of “Age of Feeling” will broadcast on January 15 at 10PM (KST).

“Age of Feeling” Kim Hyun Joong Wants to Lose His ‘Flower Boy’ Image

Actor/singer Kim Hyun Joong recently revealed his determination to shed his ‘flower boy’ image.

On January 9, at a press conference for KBS’s upcoming drama “Age of Feeling,” Kim Hyun Joong said, “Previously, my ‘flower boy’ image really stood out, but in this drama, I really went for a more macho look. I feel like I’m learning about masculinity when I’m filming. I’m 29, and I think I’m becoming more mature.”

Kim Hyun Joong plays the fierce fighter Shin Jung Tae, known for his exceptional speed and agility.

“Age of feeling” is a new romantic noir that tells the story of Korean, Chinese, and Japanese ‘romantic fists’ in the 1930s, shot on a grand scale with intricate action. The first episode will air on January 15, and will follow the end of “Beautiful Man,” which seems fitting!
