From Episode 7 going forward, the progression of HJ & MM's closeness is evident.
This actual scene was when OHN asked BSJ about the girl she met after almost getting hit with the car in school campus and later seeing her again in his class.
BSJ taunting OHN and teased that she may have the right to get jealous because they did kiss after all.
And even acted so cool while turning his back on her.
However, in one of the NGs...
HJ did well with his lines but went blank when he was in front of MM -- he was supposed to get his face close to her
instead, he just stared at her
for a long time
until MM looked at him
then he quickly covered his face (this reminds me of when MM covered her face in Epi 5 NG... payback! hahaha)
which made MM chuckle
HJ couldn't help but chuckle as well
then, he felt embarrassed
MM comforted HJ; she said "oppa" but that's all I understood
HJ awkward
couldn't even look at MM
And, both felt awkward after they were summoned to re-do the scene by the PD .
POV: I think they learned and understood of each other's personalities early on -- that was evident in MM's action in comforting and supporting HJ in the above scene. I can't help not think that the above scene was modified a bit thus, MM have her eyes closed when HJ taunts her character, OHN, to make it easier for HJ in the actual scene. Although blunt and direct, I think he's quite the opposite with those dear to him. ^-^

How was it acting with Kim Hyun Joong? He is not the type that can quickly
become close with.
SM:
Actually, at the start it was very uncertain because I also have the character
that’s quite shy with strangers. But meeting with this type of person we can
communicate better instead. :wub: Gradually we are able to figure out the
signals we give each other when acting or signals when revealing a little more
of what’s in our hearts. When there was communication through these signals, it
is really very wonderful. (Laugh) Because we are both able to sense each other
during those moments and at the same time also very grateful for those moments.
